Our Services

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the Higher Education Center provides support to all institutions of higher education in their efforts to address the problems of alcohol and other drug abuse and violence.

The U.S. Department of Education established the Center to provide nationwide support for campus alcohol, other drug, and violence prevention efforts. The Center is working with colleges, universities, and proprietary schools throughout the country to develop strategies for changing campus culture, to foster environments that promote healthy lifestyles, and to prevent illegal alcohol and other drug use among students.

The Higher Education Center provides the following services to institutions of higher education:

• HEC/Forum interactive discussion
• publications
• learning opportunities, including trainings and Webinars
• HEC/News, news and information relating to alcohol and other drug abuse and violence prevention
• Web content for specific audiences, such as parents, students, and college and university presidents
