Opposition, support for 21-only voiced: Council’s efforts backed by UI

“University of Iowa officials said Tuesday they are supporting the Iowa City Council's efforts to re-address the 21-only issue that was overwhelmingly rejected by voters more than two years ago.”
“However, two of the referendum's biggest opponents in 2007 said Tuesday they think the council is going against the wishes of the public. The 21-only measure, which would have prevented anyone younger than 21 entering a bar after 10 p.m., was defeated by a 58-42 margin in the November 2007 city election…”
