Over 1.6 million people worldwide lose their lives to violence. Many more are injured and suffer physical, sexual, reproductive, and mental health problems as a consequence of exposure to violence. To mark the 4th Milestones of a Global Campaign for Violence Prevention Meeting, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Liverpool John Moores University are launching Violence Prevention: The Evidence, an eight-part series of briefings on the evidence for interventions to prevent interpersonal and self-directed violence. Violence Prevention: The Evidence provides clear directions for how funders, policymakers, and program implementers can boost the effect of their violence prevention efforts.
The series can be viewed or downloaded from the John Moores University Web site.
